THE GOAL

Your first $100 is a proof milestone, not a promise. It proves that a real person will exchange money for an outcome you can deliver.

Step 1 — Pick one buyer you can reach

Do not start with “everyone who uses AI.” Start with a group you can actually contact: local businesses, music teachers, independent consultants, creators, students, small e-commerce sellers or another narrow community you understand.

Step 2 — Find a repeated frustration

Look for tasks that are slow, repetitive, confusing or easy to postpone. Ask what they already do, how often the problem appears and what happens when it is not solved.

Step 3 — Create a tiny paid outcome

Examples: a reviewed document pack, a content calendar, a workflow setup, a template bundle, a one-hour implementation session or a small custom research brief. Keep the scope clear enough that you know when the job is finished.

Step 4 — Price for learning, not perfection

For the first pilot, choose a price that is meaningful enough to test willingness to pay but low enough that you can justify an early version. A $25–$100 pilot can teach more than weeks of hypothetical planning.

Step 5 — Ask 20 people, not 20,000

Reach out personally. Explain the problem, show the sample and ask whether the outcome would help. Do not spam generic AI pitches. A useful message sounds like a person who understands the work.

Step 6 — Deliver manually and document the workflow

Use AI behind the scenes for research, drafting or structure, but keep review and accountability with you. Write down each step. The documented process can later become a product, template or automation.

Step 7 — Turn the first sale into evidence

Ask what was most valuable, what was missing and whether they would buy again or refer someone. Revenue is useful; repeatability is even more useful.

Simple arithmetic: four $25 pilots, two $50 projects or one $100 customer all reach the same proof milestone. The point is not the exact price—it is finding a real exchange of value.
